Day 35 – Buenos Aires

We finally arrived at the hostel at 3am after our super delayed flight, straight to bed, so we could get up to say back to Flor with breakfast in the morning. She went to her favourite bakery to get us a sweet breakfast.

Today we did the walking tour, that also included the subway and public buses with Joy!

We went to the Recoleta Cemetery, which is where Eva Perón is buried, better known as Evita.

Next we went to the pink Palace and the surrounding area. One of the buildings has Evita on with a microphone.

The symbol of a white scraf is for the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. In the 1970’s and 80s over 30,000 disappeared and many of them women. Who had babies taken and given to other families. This group today helps reunite families.

A bus ride to La Boca, we got to the see colourful houses and businesses. This part of the city is very unsafe so we were given clear instructions to where we could go. The football stadium is here too, which the guys missed out on attending the match due to our delayed flight.

Last stop of the tour was the food market, which smelled amazing! We ended up having a snack in the Greek place.

The new members of the group arrived tonight and we went out for dinner.
